Vegetable & Flower Still-Life Workshop

Bold Stroke Marshes Workshop

The ever-changing riverbanks of the May River, lined with salt marshes and other marsh ecosystems, provide a breathtaking backdrop for this expressive landscape workshop. With Beth Blackwell Cullen as the guide, participants will explore dynamic brushwork, bold color, and painterly interpretation as the Lowcountry’s waterways come to life on canvas. From rippling reflections to sunlit spartina grasses, participants will learn to embrace spontaneity and paint with freedom, all while surrounded by the serene beauty of Palmetto Bluff.

About the Artist

A transformative drawing class sparked Atlanta-based artist Beth Blackwell Cullen’s passion for painting, prompting her to transition from a successful career in real estate and hospitality into the world of art. Known for her bold use of color and abstract landscapes, Beth has earned multiple awards and currently serves as Director of the Virginia Highland Plein Air Painters. As an Impressionist artist, she skillfully blends vibrant hues with nature’s splendor, drawing inspiration from the beauty around her. The stunning Lowcountry landscape will surely inspire Beth and her workshop participants this October at Palmetto Bluff, where she’ll share her joy of teaching and art through her dynamic pastel workshops.
