Layered Landscapes in Wilson Village

Explore the calm complexities of the May River landscape through loose brushstrokes and building rich layers of paint. In this acrylic painting workshop, participants will join Anna at FLOW Gallery as she instructs how to implement composition, color, texture, and movement. Materials will be provided.

Come to the Conservancy Classroom in Moreland Village and join Anna as she guides you through the serene beauty of Moreland's landscapes using loose brushstrokes and rich layers of paint. This acrylic painting workshop will teach you about composition, color, texture, and movement. All materials will be provided. 

Natural Rhythms: An Abstract Study

The muse and inspiration for this acrylic abstract study is the created and natural world around us. Participants will learn how composition, color, line, and contrast work together to create abstract works inspired by the rhythms and shapes found in nature. Anna will lead guests through studying these natural elements and layering them together to create vivid and inspiring works of art. Materials will be provided.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Anna Vaughn Kincheloe is an expressionist southern artist in Raleigh, NC. Her work reflects free-spirited moments, often with a transportive quality and connections between elements that encourage the viewer to wander. She is drawn to expansive, wide-open spaces — particularly horizon lines — and attempts to evoke this sense of freedom in her vivid paintings. Expression, color, and movement are also important aspects of her work. When not in her studio, you can likely find Anna by the sea or out in nature with her husband, Hatcher, and children, Lucy and Byrd.
